Houses

At Glen Oroua School our students belong to one of four different house groups.

Kiwi (yellow)
Tūī (blue)
Kea (red)
Kakapō (green)

House leaders are selected from within their House at the start of the year, and they are mentored throughout the year to develop their leadership skills.  Leaders run house activities with their groups once a fortnight.  These include fun minor and team building games, which develop the leaders skills, and definitely strengthen the friendships within the group.

House points are earned throughout the year through participation in school and cluster events, with a trophy presented to the House with the most points at the end of year prize-giving.

Points are earned for positive behaviour choices, reinforcing our GO School GRIT values of Growth, Respect, Involvement, and Tenacity.
