Our teachers are all qualified and registered, are motivated to help our students achieve to their potential, and develop a growth mindset towards their learning.

Terri Currie

Whaea Terri teachers and mentors our seniors in our Year 6-8 class.  Students learn within a self directed learning programme in Rākau, and Terri has all number of structures in place to ensure this is achievable and successful.   Terri is regularly accompanied by her friendly pups, Taitts and Clicquot.

Eliza Trembath

One of our talented support staff, Eliza has quickly learned about how structured literacy works, and supports learners in Māhuri with this and their other learning throughout the morning.    

Teresa Yiannoutsos

One of our very flexible Teacher Aides or Kaiāwhina, Teresa works in our Tupu clas supporting the classroom teacher and our students in their learning, within class and on a one-on-one basis.  She is great at seeing a need, and meeting it. 

Helen Stanbra

Mrs Helen Stanbra (Mrs S) is our awesome classroom release teachers, currently teaching across our the classes in our kura on Tuesdays, and often sharing her awesome environmental science expertise with our tamariki.

Shayna Crawford

Whaea Shayna Crawford teaches our Year 4-5 Māhuri class, in our 'old' Library which has been recently refurbished.  She builds excellent relationships with students and their parents,  is passionate about literacy learning and supporting our diverse learners.

Janine (Trev) Ball

Trev is one of our wonderful teacher aides or kaiāwhina, this year working mostly with our Year 6-8 Rākau class.  Trev is really great at reading how our tamariki are feeling, and adapting what is being done to bring out the best in them.

Liz Carroll

Liz teaches our Tupu (Year 2-3) class on a Friday, and loves children to be actively engaged through hands-on learning. 

Ange Ireland

 Ange Ireland has a strong background in early childhood and junior education and is working with our New Entrant & Y1 students. She is very focused on developing and maintaining relationships with her students and whanau, and ensuring they receive a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy.  Ange is regularly joined by her peaceful pup, Pippin.

Denise Ebbett

Mrs Denise Ebbett teaches our Y2&3 or Tupu class, from Monday to Thursday.   She particularly enjoys building up the rapport between herself and the students in her class as they grow in their learning.  Her students love having the opportunity to use digital technology to enhance their learning.

Francie Carroll

Francie Carroll is the principal of our awesome rural kura.   Francie is passionate about students being involved in all aspects of school life, keeping learning authentic, and helping people feel a part of the Glen Oroua School community.  

Diane Taylor

Mrs Diane Taylor is our Office Manager and is responsible for keeping things running behind the scenes. She is your first point of contact for any enquiries or notification of absences, and all notes and money from home should come to Diane in the office. Her office hours are from 8.30am until 3pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and Tuesday and Thursday mornings until 12.30pm.  Mrs Taylor also spends some of her time in the Teacher Aide/Kaiāwhina role.
