Our teachers are all qualified and registered, and are motivated to help our students achieve excellence.
Mrs Raylene Franks is our Principal and Special Needs Co-ordinator. Raylene has been Principal at Glen Oroua School since 2007. Her passion is teaching reading, and she loves seeing that "Aha!" moment of realisation when her students grasp a new concept.
Mrs Ange Ireland comes to Glen Oroua School with a strong background in early childhood and junior education and is working with our New Entrant & Y1 students. She is very focused on developing and maintaining relationships with her students and whanau, and ensuring they receive a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy.
Mrs Denise Ebbett teaches our Y2&3 (Educational Explorers). Denise is leading development of Te Reo across the school, and is also in charge of music. She particularly enjoys building up that rapport between herself and the students in her class as they grow in their learning. Her students love having the opportunity to use digital technology to enhance their learning.
Miss Charlotte Weeks is teaching our Y4&5 students in Room 4 (the Library). Originally from the UK, Charlotte grew up on a vineyard in the Hawkes Bay and comes to us after teaching for a few years in Wellington and traveling in the US & UK.
Mrs Francie Mullin comes back to teaching after a break raising her family. She is working in the senior room teaching our Y6-8s. Francie is well known as a parent in our school and already has an excellent relationship with students. She is focused on supporting our students to become self directed learners who care about learning, each other and their school.
Mrs Diane Taylor is our Office Manager and is responsible for keeping things running behind the scenes. She is your first point of contact for any enquiries or notification of absences, and all notes and money from home should come to Diane in the Office. Her office hours are from 8.30am until 3pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and Tuesday and Thursday mornings until 12.30pm.
Mrs Kate Saunders is currently taking reading recovery for those students with an identified need for extra support in reading and writing.
Mrs Sue Thompson provides additional support to those students who need it.
